Industrial Acoustic Isolation
There are a wide range of Mason Industries products suitable for industrial applications - mechanical and electrical (M&E). The term industrial potentially covers a lot of different applications, but whatever is required we will provide you with engineering support and expertise to assess the acoustic and physical requirements, before selecting either a product from Masons exhaustive range or designing a bespoke solution.
Often industrial equipment will need to be isolated from the surrounding structure, not only for the acoustic comfort (and in some cases safety!) of staff but also to protect the building or the equipment itself from the damage that vibration can cause.
Whatever the solution you can rest assured knowing that Mason Industries products are the very best available and will not fail. Failure in an industrial setting can often cause huge amounts of damage, resulting in loss of money or causing serious injury.
Inertia Bases, Floating Floors & Air Springs
Industrial equipment can be isolated using a number of methods, depending on a number of factors. Inertia bases are suited to equipment which require very high levels of isolation and/or can physically move during operation. Inertia bases add weight to the system and allow for high deflection springs.
Spring Mounts & Rubber Pads
Some equipment can be mounted directly on spring mounts (which can come in a variety of housings) or on a rubber pad. We will be happy to suggest the most cost effective way of isolating your equipment.
Sensitive Equipment
For very sensitive equipment (typically for medical or scientific use) Mason can design and install air springs. This supports the equipment on a cushion of air which effectively provides total isolation against vibrations of any frequency. We can offer a full design and installation service.
Mason U.K. can also help isolate any connections to your equipment. We offer a wide range of flexible connectors for removing vibration from fluid systems. We can also provide spring hangers for cable and pipe suspension; flexible pipes for use where movement has to be accommodated and can help design and construct bespoke solutions if required.
Flexible Pipe Connectors
Pumps typically do not move fluids smoothly, but in a series of pulses determined by the pump speed and the design of the mechanism. This introduces vibration into the fluid, be it gas or liquid. The pipe work can transmit this vibration throughout the building.
Flexible pipe connectors remove the power of each fluid pulse, by introducing a rubber arch which can expand with variations in fluid pressure. Mason flexible pipe connectors offer superb durability and can be tailed to suit the project, including the Safeflex range which offers unparalleled protection against failure.
Braided Steel & Copper Flexible Pipe Connectors
We also offer braided steel or copper connectors that allow for differential movement between building segments, or equipment and fixed pipe work. Mason flexes offer greater flexibility and durability then comparable products, achieved through thoughtful design and construction.
Some of these product varieties can be seen at the bottom of this page, just scroll down and click on the relevant section.
Acoustic & Vibration Hangers
Hangers may be another necessary addition to successfully isolating your pipe work and/or machines. We have a large range of hangers suitable for these kinds of jobs. Our acoustic hangers come with either a rubber or spring element (or both) and are available in a wide range of sizes and types. Which is used is dependant upon what frequencies you wish to isolate, as well as load bearing considerations and permissible movement.
There is an introduction to Mason Industries acoustic hangers at the bottom of this page, but you can just as easily contact our engineers who can help with any aspect of your design.
Concluding Industrial Isolation
Because the term industrial covers such a wide range of applications and the machines you may be using produce a variety of noises & vibrations, we strongly recommend contacting our experienced team of acoustic engineers.
You can phone us using the information located in the blue bar to your left or by clicking the Contact tab and sending us a quick message. The team at Mason will promptly reply and help you to find the ideal solution for your project.
